Summary

Data the app processes
Captured content. Photos you take with the document scanner, images you choose from Photos, and files you open from Files are processed on the device to produce Markdown. The original and the Markdown are stored in the app's private container on your device until you delete the capture. They are never transmitted.
Preferences. Your default conversion mode and whether you accepted or declined the Table AI download are stored on the device.
Nothing else. The app does not collect identifiers, location, contacts, usage data, diagnostics or crash reports. It has no third-party SDKs for analytics or advertising.
Permissions
- Camera: requested only when you start a scan, to photograph documents. Images are processed on the device.
- Photos: requested only when you choose to import; the app reads only the photos you select.
- Files: access is through the system document picker to the files you choose, and to the location you choose when saving.
The one network request
If you accept the offer to install Table AI, the app downloads model weights (mlx-community/PaddleOCR-VL-4bit, about 715 MB) from Hugging Face (huggingface.co).
That request contains nothing about you or your captures beyond what any HTTPS download
carries, your IP address and standard request headers, and is governed by Hugging Face's
privacy policy. No other network call exists in the app. The download is offered once and
can be declined; you can install or delete the model later in Settings.
Storage and deletion
Captures and originals live in the app's container. Deleting a capture in the app deletes its original. Deleting the model in Settings removes the downloaded weights. Deleting the app removes everything. If you have iCloud backup enabled for apps, the app's database may be included in your device backup, under Apple's terms; stored originals are excluded from backup.
Sharing and export
When you copy, share or save, the Markdown or original goes only where you send it: the clipboard, the app or person you choose in the share sheet, or the folder you pick in Files or iCloud Drive. Those destinations are governed by their own policies.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
This website
markdownsnapcaptureapp.tallbottech.com is static. It sets no cookies and includes no analytics. Fonts are served from this site itself, so no third party is contacted to render a page and none of them receives your IP address.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. The app's behaviour described above will not change without an app update that says so.
